How To Stop It

A powerful way to stop this is to use our consumer buying power to force Corporate America to demand sane gun laws.

When asked to get involved, they will say that say this is a problem legislators must decide and we should work with them i.e., “we must remain neutral.” The result is that Corporate America winds up supporting whatever laws are passed e.g., Stand Your Ground Laws.

We will ask then to become an Aggressive Corporate Advocate (ACA) for sane gun laws; we will not allow them to remain neutral; they are either part of the solution or part of the problem—nothing in between.

Our Insane Gun Laws

Guns can be carried concealed in 49 states and openly in 43 states. Guns are not registered and gun owners are not licensed. Criminals and the mentally ill can purchase guns at gun shows where background checks are not required. Suspected terrorists on the No-Fly list can legally buy as many guns as they want. In many states guns can be carried into the everyday places where you live your life – restaurants, offices, bars, supermarkets, schools, libraries, sporting arenas – and the list keeps growing. Gun owners in 25 states and counting can use Stand Your Ground to kill at will anyone any time they feel threatened. Several states already allow guns on college campuses and there is push to force all college campuses to allow guns. In many states public universities are barred from keeping guns off their campuses. Gun free zones around neighborhood schools are being repealed. In many states gun owners can bring their guns into the State Capitol while legislative sessions are underway. There are a groups of gun owners insisting laws be passed to allow them to bring guns on airplane flights.

US gun laws are not sane. They are not based on public safety but on maximizing sales for the gun industry. Find out how the NRA prevents sane gun laws from being enacted.

Sane gun laws will simultaneously protect the Second Amendment right of the legal gun owner and the non-gun owner’s rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as written in the Declaration of Independence.

The NRA Cannot Defeat This

Starbucks policy permits customers to carry loaded guns in its stores — even though they know that gun carriers put their employees and customers at risk. HOWEVER, to keep senior management safe, guns are banned at corporate headquarters.
